grel was a label run by Jay Schleidt from 2000 through 2005.

It began, like many independent labels, as a means to release Jay's home recordings.
snma is his solo endeavor, and many of the groups included on grel were collaborative
projects with various friends. Somehow word got out, and grel started putting out tapes
from artists who approached Jay through the website. Once he graduated college in 2005,
Jay hung up the grel badge to focus on new efforts.
(this website is kind of like a retrospective of the works produced during that time.)

Subsequent labels of Jay's that followed grel include De Linqo Donkeyhut, ATLATL Floppy Disks,
Sauce Juice Records, and currently Darbolistic Rex and Burd Turd Tapes.
