The first 15 tracks are live in Ottumwa, Iowa, at a show opening for Joe
Jack Talcum of Dead Milkmen fame. The punk and goth kids in the audience
seemed either pretty interested or the exact opposite. A few Make Believe
Bombs songs make it into the improvisational nonexistant setlist, and
snma's hand can be heard frequently divulging sonic secrets. An interesting
mix of rythms and keyboard ditties with scrambling feedback terraforming
and bent cassette damage. The last three tracks were recorded soon after
Devin and Jay met, helping form a bond that sticks like horse hooves to
hot asphalt. Track 17 is an almost 26 minute romp through an experimentation
in uniting the sounds being created into the body, mind, and placement
in the space not visible to us in everyday life. Videogames make love
to squelchy noises of the electronic nature, and in return receive their
payment in the form of arcade tokens. Action Phantom takes you on a ride
through the woods of the future. Trees no longer exist, only decaying
electronics seeming half alive, while still producing what sound they
can. As you trek through the forest, you run into robots attempting to resurrect
their fallen brothers, and destroy the human race. Eventually you find
yourself alone, only hearing the screech of mechanics, and you know the
robots will soon be coming back. Not one for the kiddies. CDr lives inside
a paper lunchbag with screenprinted cover.
